BMW 3-Series Autumn 2001 Facelift

After about four years of production, the current BMW 3-series will receive a slight facelift in autumn 2001.
While the taillights seem to be left untouched, the front and rear bumper will be carefully re-designed and the car will get modified headlights with the 5-series' sophisticated light technology and sharper drawn “lachrymal sacs” below the lamps themselves.
 The shape of the front flashers will be re-designed, too, to give the car a friendlier and less aggressive face.
It is expected that not only the saloon, but the Coupe, Cabrio and the Touring will get the facelift as well.
 Since the new 3-series Compact got a front layout radically different from the standard 3-series models, the facelift will not be given to that car and also the all-new M3 and the up-coming M3 Cabrio will retain the current design.
