Shortlist for Semperit Irish Car 2002

The five shortlisted candidates for the title ‘Semperit Irish Car of the Year 2002’ have been announced by the Irish Motoring Writers Association. From the contenders, a winner will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Berkeley Court Hotel on Thursday, 22nd November. The shortlist is as follows:
Alfa Romeo 147
Citroen C5
Ford Mondeo
Honda Civic
Renault Laguna
The five nominees were selected by voting journalists from a total of 33 eligible entries. Models are judged on the basis of engineering, styling, performance and value-for-money.
“There is a real sense of tension to this year’s awards, not least because several of the shortlisted contenders are direct competitors in the marketplace,” commented Brian Smith, Semperit Ireland. “My money is on another close finish!”
Last year the Opel Corsa won the Award in the closest contest in its history.
This marks the 10th year in which Semperit have sponsored the awards.
