Bridgestone Test Tyres for Formula Ireland

Just a day after they announced they would continue to supply Jordan with F1 tyres for the 2003 season, Bridgestone ran their first test for Formula Ireland at Mondello Park race track on Saturday 18th January.
 Bridgestone, who supplied tyres to the Opel-Lotus Championship (later Formula Europa) for ten years have decided to come back into single seater motorsport in Ireland, after a two year absence, assuming suitable rubber can be found for the Formula Ireland car.
A second test will be carried out in the coming weeks with a wider spec tyre. "Motor racing has entered a new era in Ireland in the last couple of seasons with the new look and management at Mondello Park," says Colm Conyngham, Marketing Manager of Bridgestone in Ireland. "We are now seeking to become involved with this growing Championship based at Mondello."
