Ford Reveals New Focus RS World Rally Car Ford has unveiled the stunning new Focus World Rally Car, ahead of its debut at next month's New Zealand Rally.

Ford Reveals New Focus RS World Rally CarAn evolution of the model which has already won 11 world rallies since its debut in 1999, the new Focus RS WRC is nonetheless 80% new. Ford Rallye Sport team at M-Sport believes it has built the most technically advanced and revolutionary rally car ever.

You don’t have to look to the engine specification to see this car's intentions - its aggressive front-end says it all. The car is new from the ground up but the most striking aspect is the huge rear wing, which will generate massive downforce at high speed. The team has put a huge effort into improving the aerodynamic package has been improved and there are new bumpers, cooling scoops and new body panels all round.

There has been considerable weight saving in all areas, and a roll cage inside the body shell which far exceeds the requirements laid down in the sport's regulations. Cosworth Racing has designed a lighter and more powerful two-litre turbocharged version of the Duratec R engine.

Markko Märtin and François Duval and will drive the new Focus RS WRC 03 on all the remaining rounds of this year's championship.

Second in the 2002 series for the third time, the Focus WRC has notched up 11 victories in total, and 46 points finishes, including 17 in succession. It has finished more than 63% of the rallies it has contested.

The Ford Focus has been Ireland's best-selling car for the past two years.
