Team Alfa Romeo Ireland score debut win Team Alfa Romeo Ireland enjoyed a successful debut on Sunday (29th June) when 19-year-old Niki Meredith from Dublin took Olympic victory in the third round of the Dutch Alfa 147 GTA Challenge at Zandvoort in Holland. Adding further to the celebrations, Mark Kershaw from Saggart finished fourth for the team.

Replacing the Dutch Touring Car Championship, the Alfa 147 GTA Challenge is Holland's premiere racing class attracting a strong line-up of professional drivers.

Registered for the Olympic class (non-professional drivers), Niki and Mark quickly settled into the ultra competitive environment improving their lap times with each outing over the weekend culminating in Niki taking the top spot on the podium.

An all Irish staffed team, Team Alfa Romeo Ireland is supported by Alfa Romeo Ireland and Irish waste equipment specialists Manvik. Engineered by AMF Motorsport, the team will compete for the next two seasons in the European Alfa 147 GTA Challenge and their participation already has series organisers talking about an Irish round in 2004.
