'Young Racing Driver of the Year Award'

Team Alfa Romeo Ireland were in action at Mondello Park on 6th November when it provided its two Alfa 147 GTA Cup cars for the Skills Test element of the prestigious Dunlop Sexton 'Young Racing Driver of the Year' Award which carries a first prize of €32,000.
 Shortlisted for the award Cork’s Matt Griffin (British GT Cup Champion), Dubliner Eoin Murray (British Clio Cup Race Winner) and Kildare’s John O’Hara (Formula Ireland Champion) were each given two runs in the 220bhp Alfa 147. Observed by a panel of judges which included ex Lotus Formula One driver Martin Donnelly they also drove a FRenault single seater.
New to the award this year, the introduction of the Skills Test was made possible thanks to the support of Irish Dunlop, The Irish Sports Council, Alfa Romeo and Mondello Park.
The winner of the award will be announced at the annual Alfa Romeo / Motorsport Ireland 'Awards for Excellence in Irish Motorsport' lunch which is due to be held in Dublin on 1st December.
