2004-11-16 - By Philip Byrne

All-New Focus Launches With Once-Off Offer Ford Ireland is celebrating the arrival of the much-awaited all-new Ford Focus next weekend – with a very special offer for early buyers. Customers will have the once-off opportunity starting Saturday 13th November to order a brand new Focus LX for 2005 with a host of valuable extras for a fraction of the normal price.

All-New Focus Launches With Once-Off OfferThe Focus ‘First Edition’ features 16” alloy wheels, cruise control, fog lamps, a trip computer and leather steering wheel. That’s on top of the standard Focus features of 6 airbags, ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, 6-speaker radio/CD and power front windows. Normally these extras would cost €1500 but for one week only they are being offered for just €350.

The Ford Focus has been Ireland’s best-selling car for the past three years and expectation surrounding the all-new model is high. It is a contender for both the European and Semperit Irish Car of the Year awards.

In 3- and 5-door bodystyles, the new Focus is available in 5 specification levels, from the entry-level Freedom to the luxurious Ghia and Titanium. Engines range from a 1.4 to the brand–new 1.6 VCTi and TDCi diesel range. The new Focus offers even more interior room and class-leading boot space, without compromising the driving dynamics which have made the name Focus synonymous with motoring in this country. Motoring journalists have been unanimous in praising its build quality.

The Focus First Edition is available for order for 2005 with 1.4 and 1.6 petrol engines at Ford dealerships nationwide from Saturday 13 November until Saturday 20 November.

Novel options on the Focus range include adaptive 'see round the corner' front headlamps, where the lamps turn in line with the steering. A solar reflective windshield helps keep the car cool on hot summer days, while a KeyFree system unlocks the car when the driver approaches it - no more fumbling for the central locking!

“We’re celebrating the arrival of Focus with a really unique deal for a brand-new model,” comments Denis McSweeney of Ford Ireland, "and we are anticipating the take-up will be spectacular.

"Even without this offer, the high standard specification - especially in terms of safety equipment - of the new Focus make it even better value than the first-generation car.

“I would emphasise that the First Edition is available to order for one week ONLY – Saturday 20th November is the deadline for putting pen to paper!”

The Ford Focus is available from €19,130 ex-Cork.
